This community is a response to a need that seems to exist of people who want to talk about Disney in a safe place for in depth discussion and analysis.
This isn't an elite Disney discussion of any kind, but it is for people who are longing for a place to talk Disney where discussion is not about stan/princess/ship wars, or about favorites and careful princess sensibilities. There isn't going to be any pettiness in the discussion and we're not here to police your Disney internet experience.
People can and should discuss here if they are interested and informed in what Disney is and what its history and legacy implies to a lot of people around the world. If they are hungry for knowledge and discussion of how Disney works and what its creations involve.
That being said, discussion should also be taken lightly, with a grain of salt and for entertainment/educational purposes. NEVER should there be anyone taking offense on how lightly someone takes something or how seriously someone else does. Even if someone takes it lightly, or if they are very intense about something, ultimately everyone is here because you love Disney and have an honest interest in it. Keep that in mind.
RULES AND GUIDELINES
READ THIS BEFORE YOU ASK ANYTHING. BUT FEEL FREE TO ASK ANYTHING ON THIS POST. COMMENTS ARE SCREENED.
Membership is currently open, you must be a member to comment. Anyone can post. But if you don't follow the rules, your post will be deleted.
TAG YOUR POSTS!
Tag your posts with the movie/person/place they belong to. Start with a dash if they are a movie (i. e. -Sleeping Beauty). Don't add any symbols at the front of any other tags so the movie tags can be found easily.
No graphic posts of any kind. There are LOTS of amazing Disney makers and work on lj, but this is not the place to post it.
NO STAN WARS. I don't care if you are one with Snow White, stan wars are NOT allowed. What I mean by stan wars can constitute (but is not limited to) the following:
I repeat: We are NOT your Disney internet police. Be big girls and boys and dealwithit.gif
No extensive and useless material posts. If you want to show and discuss the new poster for Brave, that's one thing. But don't go about posting huge scans of every page of story books that are not at all relevant to discussions.
NO INTRO POSTS. No one cares if you're new or have seen only half the Disney movies or have a Mickey Mouse pin collection. Let yourself be known for your contributions, instead.
We are NOT your google. The idea here is to discuss, you have to do your own homework. In other words; you can talk about why songs where cut off from Aladdin but don't come asking which ones, use Google for that. Although, feel welcome to post if something is really obscure and you HAVE ALREADY done your best to search it.
Share the love. If you want to talk about how much you love something, you are welcome to it. But make posts that other people can participate in, post stuff that you think people can discuss and be interested in.
Spam is only allowed if it's beautiful, funny, on topic and interactive.
• I reserve the right to delete your posts if they don't follow the rules and to ban people who make sure to show off they don't read them or repeatedly ignore •
THAT IS ALL. YES IT WAS A LOT.
NOW POST AND PARTY.
